Creditor Harrassment
Brainerd – Debt Collector Harassment
Fact: Debt collectors have legal guidelines that they must follow in their line of work. These guidelines are spelled out in the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.
Fact: Many debt collectors routinely violate this act.
Creditors violate the Fair Debt Collection Practices act in many ways:
- By harassing you
- By making false or misleading statements about what will happen if you do not pay a debt.
- By charging unauthorized fees
- By calling early in the morning or late at night.
- By calling your relatives or employer
These are just a few of the ways in which collectors violate the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.
Fact: When debt collectors violate the law I can make them pay cash to you. I will charge you no fees or costs unless I win your case. If you win, my fees or costs will be paid as a part of any money paid out by the debt collector.
Fact: You do not pay any legal fees in these cases unless you win in the end. The debt collector pays the legal fees if you win the case, and Ed Shaw Law waives the legal fees if you do not. In other words, there is no risk for you.
